Outrageous claim from the Daily Mail: "Stags are MORE sensible than hens!" !!!!

So lads, we are falling behind the girls… apparently we are the “well behaved” ones when it comes to our last night of freedom and there’s proof of it too.  Time to step up our game….

"
Stags are MORE sensible than hens! Men pay less and behave better than women when celebrating their last night of freedom
·         31% more men fell into the 'sensible' category when preparing
·         33% admitted to following rigid saving plans to attend
·         14% of men said stag parties had become too long, expensive and involved
·         Average stag costs £153 per person

While the words ‘stag do’ immediately conjure the sort of chaotic scenes immortalised in The Hangover film, it seems British men should be given a bit more credit for their behaviour surrounding their pre-wedding party habits.
According to the latest study (and contrary to popular belief), men are far more sensible than women when it comes to financial preparations for stag or hen nights - and a sight more sensible when they're on the do itself.
Research into the spending habits of stags and hens showed that in saving and budgeting for the trip, 31 per cent more men than women fell into the ‘sensible’ category.

Nearly a third of males said they pre-planned a budget and stuck to it, compared to only a fifth of females who could claim the same.
A sixth of men said they felt stag parties had become too long, too expensive and too involved in recent years.
Further findings revealed that while women may not be the best at saving, they do have finances in mind: 14 per cent more women than men said they would decline an invite if they felt it was too expensive, and said they would be more inclined to only attend the events of very close friends and family.

Men said they would be more likely to attend certain parts of the celebration if they couldn’t afford the entire schedule.
When questioned about their motivation for advanced planning, almost all men with partners agreed that justifying the expense to their other half was a consideration.
It comes as no surprise that men want to save because resent research found that the average cost of a stag party is £153 per person and a hen party now reaching £157.
The study, carried out by Stag Company and Hen Heaven, found that spending had soared by over 50 percent over the past five years as it appears that no matter the economic situation people will find the money to give their friend a memorable send-off.
Hens do it best: 14 per cent of men said they felt stag parties had become too long, expensive and involved in recent years, whereas women are more likely to splurge to enjoy hen dos

Even though the UK has been in the grips of recession twice in the past five years, the average cost per party member on stag and hen weekends has risen year on year since 2008.
The average cost of a stag do has risen from £91 in 2008 to £153 in 2013, while hens now spend £157 compared to £102 in 2008.
Chris Perrett from iLikeOffers.co.uk, who carried out the research, said: 'This is the kind of careful organisation we would associate more with the female population, but clearly there's no accounting for the motivational power of stag dos.
'So sacred is the event that three quarters of male participants admitted to prioritising the stag over the wedding in terms of spending.' " - Daily Mail 2013

What's New in 2013

So since The Good stag Guide has launched we have discovered the true extent of activities and ideas available to Stags in the UK. We thought we had a good idea but we have been approached by some truly genius innovative organisations that are providing fantastic Stag activities to us and our stags. Here are some of the most popular so far in 2013!

Inflatable Gladiators

On My First Whistle!! For anyone that gets that reference this is a truly hilarious way to relive the most watched TV show of the 90s (probably). A great event for large groups as you get a huge inflatable game laid out in front of you. Great Idea and it its portable so the fun can come to you.. if you've got the room.

Mini Motos

Moto GP without the life threatening danger! Probably one step up from Go-Karting in terms of the skill you'll need. A true challenge for the petrol head Stags! Most fun stag idea on 2 wheels!

Tank Driving

Well Tanks a lot! What a day this is, driving huge machines! Probably not an appropriate idea if you Stag is in the Army but a really good day activity for a Stag do. Highly recommend idea!

November, Website Finished and we launch

Looking for something different on your stag weekend?
If you’re planning a stag do and have already been on a few before, you may want your group to do something out of the ordinary to make your weekend all the more memorable!
Alongside stag favourites such as go-karting and paintballing, we can offer a number of group activities that will take your fancy if you’re looking for something a bit more unusual to get the adrenaline pumping.
Clay pigeon shooting is becoming increasingly popular with stag groups throughout the UK. It’s a fast-paced activity that offers something a bit different for you and your mates. After a short training exercise where you’ll be instructed on handling your weapon you’ll have a competition between yourselves and it’s a great way to get the weekend going, bringing out the competitive spirit in everyone!
If you’re more of a petrol-head we can offer activities such as off-road karting. Once you get the hang of the technique involved in driving these immense off-road vehicles, you can truly let yourself go! Racing in rage buggies is a thrilling experience that will definitely give you something to remember.
It’s A Knock-Out is another unique activity that we can offer your group. Using the original props from the BBC show, you will find yourself and your friends teaming up to manoeuvre through giant inflatable obstacle courses against time limits, all the while having an unrivalled and unforgettable experience.
We get many requests for different activities so if there is anything you’d like to include in your stag weekend just let us know and we’ll be happy to arrange it for you. Give us a call on 0800 083 2157 and a member of our events team will answer any questions you have.

The Good Stag Guide Goes Karting!

On September 29th, Myself and the team travelled to F1K  Karting in Colnbrook to get a taster of what they offer stag groups. We are a very competitive bunch as I'm sure any group of 10 guys would be so the discussion was getting "heated" to say the least on the journey there.

When we arrived, we were greeted by The F1K team, who provided us with our equipment and gave us a 10 minute safety briefing and tutorial.

They then showed us to our cars and we began a 5 lap qualifying session before being lined up on a 10 car grid, ready for our 80 lap grand prix to begin.

The 30 minute race was packed with constant overtaking, a few good crashes and some very brave manoeuvres as every member of the team was eager to win. I had to climb my way up the grid after crashing on the third lap so my second place finish was very rewarding, the race winner dominated from the start, though he did weight the least.

After the race and the 15 minutes of post race trash talk between the team, we were given an awards ceremony and the top three received their trophies and a spot on the podium, all of us were also given a print our lap times.

All in all, one of the best experiences I've had, I have already booked to go back with a different group as I can't handle being #2, "IF YOU AIN'T FIRST, YOU'RE LAST!"

The F1K team were top guys, they were very accommodating and made our day very enjoyable

Stag Groups to Newmarket

Yesterday we took a drive up to Newmarket to take a look at what the town, which is popular with racegoers, had to offer.

Apart from the two racecourses, which host a number of race meetings throughout the spring and summer months, Newmarket has a lot to offer!

We took a look around Wild Tracks Activity Park which was based 10 minutes from Newmarkets town center and we were blown away by the number of activities they had on offer. Go-Karting, 4x4 Driving, Battlefield Live, Quad biking.......the list is endless

Then we took a look around Heaven Awaits, Newmarkets only Lap Dancing Club (and nightclub!)

Keep your eyes peeled for our new Newmarket Stag Packages!
